Prayer Time

We have always prayed together as a family each night... we do this in chronological order starting with Addy.  Her prayers are sweet, cute, and lasts 1-2 minutes (unless she is interrupted - then she starts over and the beginning).  Lilly's prayers are also sweet asking blessings on pretty much everyone she knows and thanks for the "sun and the rain".  Danny's are very Lutheran-like, short and to the point with deep conviction.  Our new kids prayers last 2 to 10 minutes each!  Last night we set a new prayer record with 37 minutes of kneeling prayers.  Since we have been back from Ethiopia we have averaged 1 child per night falling asleep during prayers - one night we lost 3 kids...  Tonight's prayer lasted only 23 minutes but during that time Addy found the clean clothes and put on Jacobs underwear, Marta's underwear and a bra... then ran around the house!  We told Joseph and Marta that tomorrow they would say a short prayer with the little kids and then their LONG (and I do mean LONG) prayers with just Daddy and me.   I hope they don't think we don't like their prayers - we are just not sure we can keep the little ones awake for many more nights like that! :)  The language barrier during times like this are especially difficult - but we manage to muddle through!

FYI -- we are immensely thankful that our biggest "problem" is long prayer times!

Ben and Brooke,
We wish we would have been able to come over this last weekend. Just couldn't trust the weather up at the pass. It sure is nice to see things going very well. It would have been funny to see Addy...!!! Hope to see you soon. Darren and Diane
